Jennifer's 40th Birthday Treats

Carl asked if I could make some egg and gluten free treats for his wife Jennifer's 40th Birthday. He provided me with a recipe and even some of the more obscure ingredients, and came up with the idea of a cupcake cake.

Happy 40th Birthday Jennifer!

Thanks Carl!

Wisconsin Badgers in the Rose Bowl

The Badgers are playing in the Rose Bowl today, and Karen asked me to make some cupcakes for the occasion.  I tried out a new recipe that I saw on The Sweet Adventures of Sugerbell's blog

The cupcakes are a yellow cupcake that is topped with buttercream frosting, and the rollout chocolate chip cookies are topped with royal icing.

Go Badgers!

Thanks Karen!

Casey and Jason's Wedding Treats

Casey and Jason got married yesterday in a private ceremony, with only their children and witnesses.

After the ceremony they were joined by family and friends at Mr. G's for their wedding party.

I had the honor of making their cupcakes.  I didn't deliver the cupcakes and set them up so the only pictures I have right now are the ones I took.  I can't wait to see what they looked like on the cupcake stand.

Carly Roses' Birthday Cupcakes!

Ms. Carly Rose had a birthday on Saturday and turned 17. She was busy working and tonight she has a Swim Team dinner at her house so her mom asked me to make cupcakes for the Girls Swim Team. I made 15 white cupcakes and 15 chocolate cupcakes, and frosted them with blue frosting like water...and added Swedish Fish to them...the year I coached the Girls Swim Team, they were a team favorite.

Happy Birthday Carly!

Thanks Megan!

Enjoy!

Peace, Love and Birthday Cake

This cake and cupcakes are for an 11 year old who loves peace signs and tie dye.
The cake and cupcakes are chocolate and the cupcakes are topped with butter cream frosting, I used 4 different colors placing them in the pastry bag a little at a time to come up with the mixed, tie dye look for the frosting.  The cake is topped with butter cream and then covered with homemade marshmallow fondant, and then detailing was done with Royal Icing.

Happy Birthday Marley!

Thanks Cassie!

Enjoy!

Yo Gabba Gabba Cake

Here are a Yo Gabba Gabba Cake and Cupcakes that I made.  The insides are vanilla and I used food coloring to make it a "rainbow" of colors.   The outside of both the cake and cupcakes was done in buttercream.  I made the cake to resemble the boom box and made the cupcakes into some of the shows characters.  (I forget how small cupcake tops are…but I think they turned out okay)

Enjoy!

Example of rainbow cake/cupcake inside.

Baseballs and Cardinals and Roses...OH MY!

I've been very busy in the last 24 hours, here is a glimpse of what I've been up to.

We'll start with Baseballs...I made Baseball cupcakes.  Cupcakes are white cake with white butter cream frosting and red "threads".  Intended to look like...well...Baseballs.

First Attempt

Second Attempt

I also made a Cardinal's cake.  This is my second one.  I successfully completed my first one last night only to sneak a peak at it this morning to be mortified.  I attempted to smooth out the bubbles and what not, but I knew that I could not show this cake.  I thought about taking the fondant off and attempting to "rebuild" the cake, but in the end I set to baking and started from the beginning.  The end result is slightly different, I used royal icing for the lettering on the second cake verses the fondant on the first.  I'm very pleased with my second end result.

I tried to make Roses after I saw Amanda on Iambaker do a rose tutorial.  I had extra cake batter from the cupcakes so I made a 8 inch round cake.  I then covered the cake with butter cream and used a 1 M tip and made roses.  I'm taking the Rose cake to book club tonight.

Amor

I had the joy of making cupcakes for a Valentine/Birthday treat for one of the sweetest girls I have ever met.  It was decided that I would put hearts on the cupcakes and then write the names of her classmates and teacher on the hearts.  She was most excited to sneak a peak at them, I hope her classmates enjoyed them as well.

I also was able to make and deliver some Valentine's Cookies for some friends.  Here they are.
