Flower Power Cake

This sweet cake is for an even sweeter little lady who just happens to be celebrating her 7th birthday.  The cake is chocolate with a thick layer of bright pink butter cream.  The entire cake is covered in that same pink butter cream and then topped with homemade marshmallow fondant.

ENJOY!

Hoppy 1st Birthday!

Sebastian Leo is turning one, and we are all very happy to wish him a Hoppy 1st Birthday. Sebastian's Mom and I have known each other just about forever and I was excited to send these off for his 1st birthday celebration on July 4th! Happy Birthday Sebastian!

She's leaving, Dios Bendiga

I was very excited to make this cake; I just wish I was making it for another reason.  The individual who will be enjoying this cake with close friends happens to be our babysitter, and it is bittersweet that I am making it.  You see, she is moving to Iowa, but first she is going to spend the summer as a missionary in Peru.  We will miss you more than you know McKenzie Ann, Dios Bendiga.

The cake is a double layer chocolate cake with a generous layer of butter cream in-between.  It is then topped off with homemade marshmallow fondant.

I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do with this cake until after I had the fondant on, and from there my ideas took off and I came up with the suit case and luggage tag.

Enjoy!

Outnumbered Club

Some of our best friends just joined the outnumbered club, yes it’s true.  The kids now outnumber the adults, and well to celebrate that exciting addition I made these cookies.
We just happen to have planned a trip to visit so the arrival of their newest was perfect timing. Congrats Dana and Michael can’t wait to meet him.
Enjoy!

Sheepshead

Rumor has it that some old college friends get together every year, for their protection only nick names are used.

Some golfing may occur, but mostly they play cards, Sheepshead in particular, so this one’s for the boys.
Enjoy!

Keeping my ducks in a row

Keeping my ducks in a row is a hard task, especially with 3 little ones 5 and under.

A new mom to be will soon learn that.  She was able to enjoy these duck cookies at a baby shower her church had for her.

Enjoy!

She's going to Saint Mary's College

These cookies were made for a graduate who will be attending Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. The graduate happens to be the God Mother of a sweet little girl I have had the joy of watching so I really enjoyed being part of the graduation surprise. I hope they were enjoyed!

Enjoy!

Couldn't Bee, Mia's Three

Yes that's right Miss Mia is 3, hard to believe.  I remember seeing/meeting Miss Mia at story time just days after she was born.  But guess what now she is 3.  Mia celebrated her birthday with some special friends on Wednesday with some cookies that people were buzzing about, and hopefully everyone will be buzzing over her "Bee" cake.  A yellow cake topped with butter cream frosting.  Again Hap-bee Birthday Mia!

Enjoy!

Many thanks for all you do

I’m sure over the years I’ll earn nick names as “The Cookie Mom” or “That Mom” and really I think I will be okay with it.  I made these treats as “Thank You” for my son’s teachers.  Being a former teacher I know that it is often a thankless job.

Enjoy!

Rafting Away

These sugar cookies are making an appearance on a rafting vacation.  So we tried hard to make yellow rafts, orange life jackets and of course some oars for the special vacation.

Enjoy!

All the buzz...

A wonderful sweet little lady is turning 3, and her birthday is creating quite the buzz.

After seeing Linzy's  post on making these bee's @ http://flourandsugarthoughts.blogspot.com/, I tried my hand at a larger version of them.

Enjoy!
