Bill's 50th Birthday Cake

Teri asked if I could make a "Rob" for Bill's 50th Birthday. As Teri picked up the cake, we got to talking about the surprise party and got to laughing that the "Rob" was quite small and that Teri had invited about 30 people to his party. Neither Teri nor I thought to ask the other about that.

For Jen’s Sweeties

Jen asked me to make some extra special goodies for the people she loves the most...I made Valentine cookies and a "Rob" for her.

For those of you who don't know the "Rob" is chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream that is topped with chocolate shavings.

Knowing Jen and her sense of humor (we are training together for the half marathon and half ironman so I get to spend a lot of quality time with her) I made an extra special cookie for her.

It's hard for me to think that I made the very first "Rob" a year ago.

Yes it's that time again...Rob's birthday, so here it is, chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and of course chocolate shavings.

"Rob" for Poms

I had the opportunity to make this "Rob" for the Pomeroy's. I think that a few members of the family have been dreaming of this cake since I first made the original Rob in January. So here it is in all its chocolate glory. (Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream topped with chocolate shavings)

Chocolate Cake AKA the Rob

A few years ago when we moved from Nebraska to God’s Country my parents and their dear friends started an annual trip to Door County.  Last year due to unforeseen circumstances it didn’t happen that my parents were here, but their friends came and they brought their daughter and new grandson.  Their daughter just happened to be one of my dearest friends from elementary school.  Well this year the tradition continued and my parents and their friends are here with their daughter and grandson. 

It happened to be my dear friend Alison’s birthday on the 27^th so we celebrated tonight with a “Rob”.  If you aren’t familiar with the “Rob” it is chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and then chocolate shavings on top…only for those who truly love chocolate.
